Wind Protection
To Reduce Soil Erosion
Wind erodes snow and soil in much the same way. Methods that work to
keep snow in place, such as tall vegetation, also work to reduce soil erosion.
Because of these similarities, we've kept up with the work of others who
specialize in preventing soil erosion by wind. The following pages include
a link to their work.
Sometimes snowdrift management also helps stabilize wind-blown soil, by
adding moisture that speeds vegetation establishment and growth.
